90 years young

On September 28th, my grandma turned 90. She is an incredible woman, still living at home by herself, and full of life. We drove up to Griffith and met my parents to surprise her for her birthday. We also got to see all of my aunts and uncles which was so much fun!

Happy birthday dear Lanie and Reggie...

On August 24th, we traveled up to Elkhart for Lanie's 9th birthday and Reggie's 4th birthday. Evie had been fighting the stomach flu, but seemed to be doing a bit better, so after Ollie's soccer practice, we made the trek up. We had a great afternoon visiting with the fam and celebrating. Ollie had a blast playing with all of the boy's toys. We had to drag him away at the end of the day, because he was having a great time with "3 boys playin' on the bed". Evie and Ryder were best buds all day too.

What to do on a rainy day...

Well, after breakfast you can paint some pictures. Then there is always hide and seek in the curtains.
You can build a fort out of blankets. Peek-a-boo! After that, you can cuddle in the chair. And then tackle your brother.Have a wrestling match. Watch a little TV. Dive off of the couch. Other fun activities include reading books, having a dance party, and then, after all of this, maybe we will play with our toys. And then maybe it will finally be time for lunch!

Officially a soccer mom...

Oliver had his first soccer practice on Saturday. He is in Lil' Kickers at Off the Wall Sports with his buddy Luke. They had such a great time! They are in the Cottontail class on Saturday mornings, and being that it is an adult interactive class, Jon and Mike get to join in the fun too. I think both Daddies were so excited that the boys were involved in their first organized athletic endeavor. The class was a lot of fun. They played games such as red light, green light, and "feed the hippo eggs" (kicking the soccer ball in the net). We have 11 more weeks of soccer fun, so I'm glad that everyone had a great time.

Camping

Over Labor Day weekend, Jon and I decided that it was time for Ollie to have his first outdoor camping experience. The weather was perfect, so on Sunday, we headed up to Lafayette for the annual fish fry (the guys who went on the Canada fishing trip over the summer get together to talk about the trip and fry up the fish that they caught). We then headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's house, pitched a tent, put Eva to sleep inside, made a campfire, roasted marshmallows, and then spent the night with nature! Ollie was so excited the entire time, and had such a blast. Looks like he is going to love the great outdoors just like Daddy and Grandpa.
