Happy Birthday, baby!

We had Miss Eva's first birthday bash a few days shy of her real birthday. It was a great evening full of family and a few close friends, delicious food, cake, and lots of presents for little miss. I think that everyone had a great time (especially Oliver who was thrilled with all of the new toys).

Mantle decorations-her zero through twelve onesie photos! I printed pictures out from her first 12 months and hung them all over the house. (There were 165, I believe!) Gift buckets, complete with pinwheels, bubbles, cupcake bites and stickers.

Miss Toddlers and Tiaras wanna-be. She looked so cute though!
I was so proud of my cake table. Dark chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing, almond cake with raspberry filling and chocolate icing, Eva's smash cake was the same as the cupcakes, a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing, and devils food cupcake bites. Yes, I made it all.

Come here Ryder, I will share! Yum, this is pretty good.
Can I pour this in my mouth?
Please?

Yay, what a fun day!

Morning at the races

On Saturday morning as my mom, Jenny and I were setting things up for Evie's birthday party, Jon and my dad took Oliver to the track to see the "fast cars" (it was the final practice for the Brickyard 400). Jon said he did great for his first trip, and he looks so cute with his giant headphones on! They wore him out enough for him to take a great nap so he was ready to party at 4!

In the stands with Papa. Notice how he has his arms exactly like Papa does. Too cute! Outside of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That Papa is so funny!

Just hangin' out...

Ollie was talking to me on the 'phone' the other day (we were both on play cells), and I asked what he was doing. He told me that he was "just hangin' out". We have been spending some time in the backyard lately with the baby pool and water table. Good times! Here are also some other random pics of us "hangin' out" in July.

Eva's silly scrunchy face. Playing in the toy baskets. Who needs toys when you can just play in the baskets?? Go Cubbies!! Notice she is holding one of Ollie's trains. She is always mimicking him!! Oliver with two of his favorite things: a bulldozer and dump truck! Water table fun. Yes, Evie is trying to drink out of a bucket. Fabulous. Playing in the crabby pool. Rock and roll!Oh Ollie, you are so funny! She loves to just laugh at him. Hi Mom! See, they have their moments of playing nicely together.

Pool time

Most of our time at Christmas Mountain was spent at the indoor pool, because it had a lot of fun stuff in it! Jenna and Chris were down from Minnesota, and Jody came up on Saturday to join us after work. We had some fun family dinners, as well as a trip to the casino (you can almost always count on going to Ho Chunk when you are visiting the great-Grandmas!). Sunday we headed back home, and finally got to see Daddy on Monday.

Evie loved the bouncy seats, and splashing in the sprayers.Teeter-totter
Whee!
Ollie in his floaties, and he had to use Eva's inner tube also!
We discovered that he didn't mind going under the waterfall if he had goggles on. He just didn't like getting water in his eyes.
Woo hoo!
Eva's hair has the sweetest little curls in the back.
I'm gonna get you!
Hanging with Uncle Chris. Chris is somewhat scared of kids, but he was great about letting Ollie hang out with him.
Morning cuddles with Auntie Jody!

Off to the Dells

On Friday morning, we had breakfast with Grandma Haug, and then headed up to the Dells. Grandma Mac has a time share at Christmas Mountain, so we spent the rest of the weekend up there. Friday we shopped a bit at the outlet malls, and then had lunch at a restaurant with a choo-choo train before finally heading up to the cabin.

Ollie and his two Grandma Haugs!Great-Grandma Haug and 3 of her great-grandchildren. Look, Oliver is actually trying new food! Mark the day on the calendar... At lunch we got a ticket for a free train ride. Oliver was excited until it started moving, and then he wanted off!! Cassie was excited! Poor baby was not liking the train ride... I hope we didn't scar him for life!! Poor guy. This is more his kind of ride!

Eva and Colbie

On Thursday evening, Evie and I got to visit with my dear friend Hillary (one of my besties from when I lived in Chicago), and her sweet baby Colbie who is 8 months old. Colbie was content to sit and play while wild woman Eva ran around and stole her toys. I hope she didn't teach her any new tricks! Oliver opted to stay with Grandma and Cassie so he could be the center of attention while we drove to the Sanders house...

Big hugs! Eva looks so tall!
Yum, these coasters are delicious!
Watch closely, Colbie, here's how you get into trouble!
Hillary and D.B.'s dog Mollie. She is huge, but so sweet! Ollie got to meet her when she was a puppy.
