Anderson Orchard

 I have been wanting to take the kids apple picking all fall. The beautiful weather continued on Sunday, so after church and after naps, we loaded the kids into the car and headed down to Mooresville and Anderson Orchard. Luckily Anderson had plenty of apples on the trees to pick! A lot of the orchards around Indianapolis cancelled their apple picking this year because they didn't have many apples due to the horrible drought over the summer. We had such a great afternoon! Oliver learned all about apples and Johnny Appleseed the week before in school, so he showed us how to pick apples (twist and pull), and sang his Johnny Appleseed prayer while we were in the orchard. So cute!

The day after Gigi's birthday party, Ollie had a soccer game in the morning. The weather was beautiful, so we headed over to Crawfordsville to Wabash for Homecoming. We had fun walking around campus, buying new Wabash shirts at the Bookstore, visiting the Sigma Chi house, and watching the first half of the football game. It was really great to be on campus enjoying the gorgeous day.

Happy birthday dear Gigi

September 28th was my Grandma's 91st birthday, so the kids and I headed up to Griffith where we met Dad, Erin, Kylie and all of the cousins. We had such a fun time! The kids get along so great, Aunt Mindy bought fun monster masks for them to make, everyone got to help Gigi blow her candles out, and hopefully we didn't wear her out too much. Happy birthday Gigi, we love you!

It's a...

On September 6th, we went in for our anatomy scan and 19 week appointment. Haug baby #3 is an active one! The tech called our babe a stinker and ornery as she was trying to do the ultrasound. The baby's little arms were flapping all over the place, and it's spine looked like a snake slithering around. It was so much fun to see our little GUY!! Yep, we are having a baby boy. Well, 95% sure it's a baby boy. Little mister didn't want to fully cooperate for the camera... It looks like boy parts are there though. I was completely shocked! This pregnancy has been much more like Eva's than Oliver's. Guess that goes to show you that old wives tales are exactly that... Everything looks great with our little man. He measured 19 weeks 1 day (so he finally caught up, and is a little over what my dates show), and is approximately 8 ounces. His heart rate was in the 140's. There was a small isolated choroid plexus cyst, so we are going to have a repeat scan at 32 weeks. It should be gone by then, and we will hopefully get confirmation that this is a baby boy! A week after our scan, we had family pictures, so here is the fun way we told everyone our news.

Soccer star!

This fall, Oliver is in the Meridian United Methodist Soccer League, and is on the Orange Crush team. Technically you can start playing at 4, but they made an exception for Ollie and a few others who are close to 4. He is on a 4-5 year old team, and his coaches are the most patient, wonderful people. Practices are pretty funny when they try to run drills and half the kids are picking grass and not paying attention. Things are getting better as we go along though. He will at least build up a nice base for next year! You can definitely tell who the older kids are on the team...

Ready for his first practice on September 4th. He missed the very first one because we were on vacation.

 First soccer game on September 15th. (The game the week before was rained out). Oliver started out as goalie, which he does quite well at. He sure takes after his daddy!

Nuseum time!

I know I have posted about the Children's Museum (or Nuseum, as the kids say) multiple times in the past, but seriously, we are so very lucky to live so close to such a great place! The museum was founded in 1925, and has been in its current location since 1946. It is regarded as the world's biggest and best children's museum. We have been members for several years, and the kids LOVE to go, but these days it is difficult unless I have an extra set of hands as the place is huge, and I am terrified of losing one of my children. So when Grandma and Papa came down just a week after vacation (Jon and Dad had tickets to the BWM Championship on Saturday), we headed down to 30th and Meridian for the morning. Sorry most of the pics are of the back of my kid's heads, but they are very busy, and you still get to see some of the great things the museum has to offer.
