Happy Easter!

Easter morning we woke up and found a note from the Bunny telling us that he had hidden our Easter Baskets!
Elliot's was pretty easy to find. Then the hunt was on...
"Easter Basket, where are you??" Evie, I don't think they talk...
Checking out their goodies.
Yay!
After finding and going through their baskets, we all got cleaned up, and headed to church with Grandma, Papa, Auntie Jenny, and Uncle Joe. Mommy sang with the choir, and the rest of us sat together. After mass, we went to Flemings for brunch. Even though brunch took forever, we had great company, and a lovely Easter morning!

Happy Easter from the Haugs, family of 5!!

Breakfast with the Bunny

The day before Easter, Ollie and Evie's school held their annual Breakfast with the Bunny. It is such a fun morning, and a lot of their classmates were there!

Eating breakfast.
Getting ready for the Easter egg hunt. Ollie, as usual, is so excited that he is dancing.
Woohoo, I have a hand full!
Eva carefully placing hers in her egg crate.
Ollie's egg crate!
Getting a little help from Dad.
Family pic with the Bunny of the hour!
Of course, 3 months after he wouldn't go near any of the characters at Universal, the Easter Bunny gets a huge hug...

Nest cookies and Easter Eggs

Thursday morning while we were waiting for Alex, Cassie and Grandma to arrive, we started some Easter fun by making nest cookies. We had a girl team (Mommy and Evie) and a boy team (Ollie and Daddy).

Cooking the cocoa and butter mixture.
Mixing in the oats.
Making the nests.

Best part of making cookies.
Putting the eggs in the nests.
Cassie and Alex helped with this part.
On Good Friday, Auntie Jenny came over to help color Easter Eggs. Here is our little bunny dipping an egg!
And Bubba dipping his.

Cousin fun!

Towards the end of Spring Break, Alex and Cassie came down for a day of cousin fun! First, we went to eat at Tomo, our favorite Hibachi place!

Ollie and Evie love the clear soup they serve before Hibachi.
Hiding from the fire.
Enjoying his clear soup.
She decided to try the ginger that came with our sushi.
After Hibachi, we headed to Snapperz to play.
Beating up the big kids!
Don't worry, Ollie, Alex has you!
Mini bowling
Racing with Cassie.
So much fun! I think Ollie pretended to be Alex for a good week after he left. They just love their big cousins!

2 months old!

I can't believe that our big man is two months old already! He is such a chill, smiley, happy boy, only getting upset when he is either hungry, has a wet diaper, or is overtired. We went to visit Dr. Bergstein for his two month appointment on the 27th, and he looks great! At the ripe old age of 6 weeks, we had to move up to a size two diaper and 3-6 month clothes (mainly for length), so I was super curious to see how big he was!
Weight: 13 pounds even
Height: 24 1/4 inches
90th percentile for both height and weight. Glad that the every two hour feedings around the clock are not in vain! He still is not sleeping, but I really can't complain when he flashes me that big, gummy grin in the middle of the night. He is a pretty efficient eater too, only nursing for about 15 minutes at a time.

He still loves his playmat, and will now bat at his little animal buddies. He also loves his swing, and will smile away at the little animal mobile hanging from it. He is a major talker, and will give us the sweetest little coos and gurgles. He still loves to be held, and patted. He has fabulous head control.

He still hates wet diapers, and will not take a pacifier, as hard as I have tried to make him like it. He gags and makes a horrid face when we try to give it to him. He is, however, becoming quite fond of sucking on his hands.
My little chunky-monk!
