Baptism

Elliot was Baptized on April 28th at Christ the King Church by Father Steve. We were so blessed to have so many friends and family members travel to Indianapolis to help celebrate his special day with us! After the ceremony, we had everyone back to the house for a late lunch. It was such a lovely day.

Mr. Elliot snoozing before his Baptism. Poor guy was not happy about being woken up, and let us know all about it during the entire ceremony...

Although he was unhappy most of the service, he was the only baby who didn't cry while he was actually being anointed with the holy water!

3 months old!

Elliot is 3 months old, and is still the sweetest boy! He is still eating every 2-3 hours around the clock. Sometimes at night we will get a 4 hour stretch if we are lucky. He is still so happy and smiley, and totally chill. Sometimes I will be holding him, and all of the sudden he will be dead weight because he fell asleep.  My favorite thing about month 3 is that he is starting to laugh! It is the sweetest sound. Things have been a little crazy this month with running back and forth to Wisconsin, but he has been a great traveler, and really hasn't minded being around a lot of different people at all! He got to meet two new buddies this month: Sydney (my friend Hillary's little girl who is about a month older than him), and Arlo (our friend Mark and Heather's little guy who is about 7 weeks younger than him)

He still loves his swing, and his little toys hanging from it. He is still sleeping in our room in his bassinet. We didn't make any major changes since we have been on the road quite a bit. One thing that we have done badly at is giving him a bottle. So now he really doesn't want to take one... We need to work on that! He is starting to grab at things, especially hair, and is also starting to suck on toys/arms/hands/etc.  He loves to get his little hand/thumb in his mouth and suck away. Elliot is still in a size 2 diaper, and wearing 3-6 month clothes. But probably not for long... He is pretty long and lean, just like Ollie and Evie were, but has the cutest little roly poly thighs!

Team Bats!

This spring, Ollie is playing t-ball. It took a little while for Mommy to convince Daddy that it would be fun after the fall soccer league didn't go so well. However, after Daddy talked to one of his friends with a son who is a few years older than O, he not only decided that t-ball would be fun, but that he should also coach the team. (Thanks Dan, for whatever you said to Jon!!) So that is how Ollie got onto Team Bats with Coach Jon.

There are also two other co-coaches besides Jon: Jenn and Dustin. They have done such a great job teaching these little guys how to hit, stay in their positions while fielding the ball, and some other basic t-ball skills. Ollie has done a great job, and seems to like t-ball much better than soccer! Their games only last 2 innings, which is the perfect amount of time for 4 and 5 year olds. A favorite part of the game is still snacks afterwards.

Ollie loves to bat, and likes to go last so he can get a "home run". Each player gets a turn at bat in every inning and gets to run all of the bases. Ollie also loves to play first base, which is really the only position who sees a lot of action on the field. After each person bats, whomever retrieves the ball throws it to first, and then the first baseman throws it home. Exciting stuff. Here are some pics from the Bat's first game on April 13.

Ready for his first game!

Great weekend

The first weekend of April, we headed up to Madison for a visit. Grandma Mac has been feeling pretty bad, so we wanted to get up to see her and let her meet Elliot. We picked the kids up early from school on Thursday, swung through Frankfort to pick up Marie, and were off! I was a little afraid of the drive between Elliot and a newly potty trained Eva, and I should have been, because it took 9 hours to get there!! (Usually a 5.5-6 hour drive depending on Chicago traffic...) We had a great time while there though, and Elliot got to meet all three of his Great-Grandma's, as well as his Auntie Jody, Uncle Chuck, Auntie Jenna and Uncle Chris! He thought that all of his great-grandmas were hilarious!

Ollie and Evie were spoiled as usual in Griffith. They got such fun Easter presents!
The ride home was a little better since we broke it up a bit, stopping in Griffith for a few hours to visit, and then stopping at Grandma and Papas for a few hours before finally heading to Indy. Of course, halfway to Indy I hear "I gotta go potty" from the backseat. There was nowhere to stop, so we pulled off on a random exit, found a drive in the middle of some cornfields, and threw her on the potty. After "Why am I outside? Why am I on the road?", she decided she was fine, and we made it home. She did really great traveling, only having 2 accidents the entire trip, and they were both while we were in Madison!

Swim Class

Ollie and Evie have been taking swim lessons at Butler for 8 weeks, and have loved them so much, we just put them in a second session. Their swim teacher is Miss Vanessa, a Butler student, and she is so great with them. They are turning into good little fishies! They practice kicking and using their arms with noodles, float on their backs (though not on their own yet), and jump into the water, sometimes touching the bottom.  Both enjoy it very much, but aren't ready to swim by themselves yet - maybe a few more months of lessons and they will get there!
