Go, horsie!
We missed the opportunity to take the horse picture, but here he is trying to pick her up. She, again, thinks it's the best thing ever that Oliver is playing with her!

Stir crazy!!
Jenny and Spiff came to visit. Spiff, as always, is so calm and patient as Oliver obsesses over him. Ollie wouldn't eat dinner this night because he was too busy playing puppy. He kept bringing toys to us in his mouth as we were eating. And yes, he is still in his pj's. He got these Buzz Lightyear pajamas for Christmas, and always refuses to take them off. They are "so soft" he says, and he loves Buzz and Woody!
We have lots of jammie days.
Evie is trying her hardest to crawl! She spends a lot of time on the floor these days. Here she is in action. She gets up on all 4's and just rocks away. She has figured out how to move her knees forward, but still hasn't figured out how to move her arms. This has resulted in a few face plants... I keep telling her she's too little to crawl, but I guess she is just as stubborn as the rest of us!
Speaking of stubborn, here is a picture of Oliver when I told him it was naptime. First he yelled "no, no, no, no nap!!" and stomped his feet a few times, and then he ran under the dining room table and pulled all of the chairs in so I couldn't get to him. Half the time these days, his "nap" consists of him playing in his dark bedroom for 2 hours. I will go up to check on him and put him back into bed, and I ususally find him face down pretending to sleep. In his toy baskets, on the chair that he has pulled all of the cushions off of, in the back of the closet, the list could go on!!
I tried to get a cute picture of the two of them, but all I could get out of Ollie was a look of disgust that he actually had to hold his sister for 5 seconds. He is so funny; he loves her and loves to play with her, but only on his time. If we ask him to sit by her or give her a kiss, it is so not going to happen!! Yep, stir crazy.

5 months old, can it be?
Evie at 5 months is still a happy, smiley girl, only ever crying when she gets tired. She is rolling both ways, and yesterday rolled half way across the living room! She is starting to get up on all 4's, and can scoot backwards; but still cannot figure out how to go forward. She gets a bit frustrated about it, but I'm pretty sure she will be full on crawling in the next month! She is also close to sitting on her own. She can sit unsupported on our laps, but still tips over if placed on the floor. She is getting stronger though.
Starting solids has also been interesting. She started on oatmeal about a week after she turned 4 months. We started with about 2 tablespoons once a day. She is the MESSIEST eater, and didn't really love it at first. At 5 months we started adding veggies into the mix, and now in the am she gets an ounce of oatmeal mixed with an ounce of veggies. She is liking it much better, and almost always eats it all! Now if we can get her to stop putting her hands and feet in her mouth in between bites, we will be in business.
Evie still adores Oliver and always has a big smile for him and for us. She has the sweetest little laugh, and still loves to chew on her feet. She continues to be super drooly. She is still getting up once in the middle of the night to eat; and still nurses 6-7 times a day. She has taken to sleeping on her tummy, and if you are holding her when she is asleep, she likes to bury her face in your arm.
Random picture of Ollie helping Jon fix the toilet. He loves tools and fixing things, and whenever a toy is turned off, he will say "it's broken, fix it, needs batteries!"Saturday, January 1, 2011
Happy New Year!
