The weekend before the 4th, we headed up to Madison to visit with family, and go to their huge fireworks display called Rhythm and Booms. It was a busy weekend, but a lot of fun. It was so great to see both Great-Grandmas, and my friend Hillary and her little cute, Colbie. We also had a great time with Chuck, Jody, and the cousins. I didn't get a lot of pictures, but here are the few that I grabbed.

Bird bonanza!!!

Over Memorial weekend, the zoo opened a new area full of bird exhibits. We had gone with some friends a few weeks later to check it out, so when Grandma and Papa were in town, so we decided to go again. There are two areas where you can feed the birds. The first is full of tropical birds. You get a cup of nectar to hold up, and they lap it up with their tongues. The second is a huge cage full of lorries. There are hundreds of them, and you get a wooden stick with bird seed on it to feed them. They will be all over you, so if you don't care for birds, don't check it out. My kids loved it, of course.

 This chick was dangerous. I was pretty sure she was going to kill a bird and we were going to be banned from the zoo for life. She would try to pet them while feeding them, or would try to grab them. I thought a bird was going to lose it's head, Dumb and Dumber style. She would also have a little group of birds around her stick feeding, and she would proceed to take the stick and shoo the birds away to get new birds, knocking them with her stick in the process. Oh dear...

I love food.

Eva continues to amaze us with her eating habits. First of all, it is unbelievable how much she can put down at a meal, and second of all, she eats like an adult. How many not even two year olds do you know that eat ribs off the bone, or a whole sub sandwich?? Here are some action shots.

 Ice cream break! We picked up ice cream from the McDonalds drive through on one of the crazy hot days on the way to the splash park. For future reference, it's not a good idea to get cones in the drive through and hand them over to the kids in the back seat. We were a block from the splash park when I heard a 'whomp' and then a cry. Eva's went ice cream down, but at least it landed on the seat... We were able to save it.

 And that made her a happy, happy girl.

Touch a Truck 2012

Touch a Truck is an annual event at Broad Ripple park where they bring in every type of car/truck you could ever think of. The kids are able to climb in them, touch them, and have an awesome time. Luckily for me, Jon was able to take the morning off and go with us, because Eva and Ollie ran in opposite directions as soon as we got through the check-in line!!

Camping out round #2

After spending a few hours up at the store fishing, we headed back to Jeff and Marie's house for dinner and camping. This was a much better camping experience-it was a lot warmer than last time!! Oliver was the fire master, got to make S'mores for everyone, and we caught fireflies. So much fun!

Gone fishin'

 For Father's Day, Jon wanted to take the kiddos up to Lafayette and go fishing with them. We had plans already for Father's Day weekend, so we ended up going the weekend before. All combined, they probably caught 10-12 fish, and had a great time!!

Night out!

On June 2, Jon and I were invited to attend a fundraiser for the Indiana Repertory Theater. It was such a fun night, starting with a silent auction, and then dinner and a radio skit performed by local celebrities. We won an autographed Tom Crean IU basketball and some b-ball tickets in the auction, and had a great time watching the evening's entertainment. It was also fun to get dressed up!!
