Super weekend

The last weekend of July was Super Weekend at the track, so Jon and Mark took Ollie and Silas to see the cars during practice on Saturday. The boys had a great time seeing the fast cars zoom around the track, and Evie and I went on a long walk and then had a nice nap while they were gone. : )

After every storm comes a rainbow...

Yes, Haug baby #3 is on the way. We are so absolutely thrilled, and very blessed. I was in complete shock on May 25th when I had a positive pregnancy test. We had been running around like crazy getting ready for 500 weekend, but I had been totally absent minded for a few days, and wanted to just make sure I wasn't pregnant before a weekend of partying. A few people know that I miscarried at the end of March, and had a D&C three days before we left for our vacation to Arizona. It was very sad, but we just accepted that it wasn't our time and figured that everything happens for a reason. So I was not expecting to be pregnant again so soon! I had bloodwork that day and then on Tuesday the 29th, so my very best birthday present this year was the call that my numbers looked great and I was indeed pregnant!

After the initial shock wore off, I spent the first trimester being a totally neurotic crazy person. We first saw our little peanut at just over 6 weeks, and then again at just over 7 weeks, and again at 10 weeks. Things have looked great so far. I was really nauseous for a few weeks, and then started throwing up about 2 meals a day. As soon as the second trimester hit, I tapered down to vomiting once every couple of days, so things are getting much better. I am also relaxing a bit more as each day goes by. I can finally say that I am so, so excited to have another baby, because now it seems real! I am even starting to get a little baby bump. Our 12 week appointment was the day after Jon's birthday, and we had a strong heartrate of 161. Here is the first picture we have of our little one. Can't wait to see a few more very soon!

Here is one more funny picture. They kids were playing doctor and putting "band-aids" (stickers) all over my legs. Apparently the baby needed some band-aids too...

Happy birthday to Daddy!

And Daddy is 34. We had a great time wrapping presents and running around to get birthday treats. Oliver and Eva were so excited about the ice cream cake! Ollie picked it out, and even chose the icing color and what the cake said. Daddy got all kinds of help opening his presents and blowing out his candles. We love you, Daddy!

The Return of the Injays!

We are so absolutely thrilled to have the Injaychocks back down the street again for the next 6 weeks. They are on home leave from Japan, and we have been spending as much time with them as possible. They day they got home, Ollie and I walked down for a quick visit. As we were walking, Ollie said "I just love Lukey so much and I missed him so so much when he was in Japanz." Melt my heart! As soon as we were two houses down, he took off running, and it was as if no time had passed. These two are still inseparable!

Our first trip to Starbucks.

House project: tile

While I was running up to Elkhart, Jon and the kids started another house project. The tiles near our side door have been coming loose, and a few were broken, so they tore up the entire area and started over. After taking the tile off, Jon discovered that instead of placing a subfloor, they had nailed in a 1/4 inch piece of plywood. No wonder the floor was bouncing! So a new subfloor was put in, and the new tile looks great.

Tearing the old tile up.
The kids removed all of the tile themselves!

Putting down grout. He really is a big help!

Nicki's wedding

On Friday the 13th, I headed up to Elkhart for Nicki Cripe's wedding. We grew up with the Cripes and Erlachers, and they will always be old family friends. I had a great time hanging out with the fam, even though it was a quick trip! Sorry my pics look a little weird. I think it was the lighting...

Pizza Train

Our last activity before Alex and Cassie headed back to Wisconsin was the pizza train. The Frymans also went with us.Oliver thought it was his birthday the whole time since this is what we did for his party last year, but that's OK. It was a really hot day, but eventually the train cooled down, and I think everyone had fun.

Monkey Joe's

On Thursday, we went to Monkey Joe's, an indoor bounce house place. All of the kids had a great time!

Eva going in the "big girl" jumps.
This picture isn't great, but I think that Evie looks so funny airborne!
Ollie has gotten so brave. His first few times at Monkey Joe's, he wouldn't go near the big jumps and slides.
 Now he's an old pro!

 Yum, slushies.
 And ice cream after!

Star Spangled Symphony

After our busy weekend in Wisconsin, we borrowed Alex and Cassie for the week. They are 12 and 10, and great with the kids! Oliver ended up spending most of the week with Alex at Grandma and Papa's house, and Cassie and Evie stayed with us. We did a few fun activities during the week, including going to Symphony on the Prairie. It was HOT, but a fun night listening to patriotic music. They cancelled the fireworks because of the drought, but still lit up the cannons during the 1812 Overture.
