Random July pics

Here are a few other random pictures from July!

Over the 4th, we somehow lost Ollie's elephant that he uses every night for a pillow. It was almost a tragedy until we went on Amazon and picked out a new elephant pillow. Two days later, we welcomed Mr. Elephant Peanut Butter Sweetie to the family!
Safety first! Two elephants, strapped in and ready to roll!
See, they are great at helping each other, and problem solving. Evie can't reach the toaster? No problem, Ollie makes a great stool! It is too funny when they come up with these things...
Another day, another Eva running around without pants. She wanted to come out on the porch, so I told her to grab her extra set out of the diaper bag, and she walked outside like this. Wearing Elliot's pants. Size 9 months. She is such a skinny minnie!!
Playing with a toad at Grandma and Papa's house. That's our girl: toads and tutu's.
Playing in the sprinklers. With a bathing suit, rainboots and umbrella. Why not?
A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes. Especially when they sparkle. A girl after my own heart!

Princess Party

Miss Eva decided that she wanted a princess party this year for her birthday. We ended up having her party at one of their favorite places: Thr3e Wisemen. Because what 3 year old doesn't have their party at a brewery?? To be fair, they are extremely kid friendly, and it was a perfect evening!

Ollie borrowed a tie from Luke so he would be handsome for all of the princesses!
Our gorgeous little princess.
Princess cupcakes!
Even Papa got in on it!
Grandma and Little E. He slept for most of the party.
Princess girls Evie, Vivian and Kate!
Playing with pizza dough.
Decorating crowns, wands and swords.
Sword fight!! Ollie, Luke and Silas
Happy Birthday to you!!!
Best family pic we could get...
All of the little knights and princesses.
The next morning, Evie decided to use the rest of the foam stickers from the crowns to decorate her new scooter. She was pretty proud of herself!

Baby dinner party

Over the summer, we had beautiful weather, which led to a lot of backyard fun! Most days Kari, Trish and I would pull up some chairs and let the kiddos run wild. We also had a few dinner parties since we were team parenting! The kids loved it; they got to eat and then run around some more while the mommies (and Jon) got to relax, eat, and drink some wine.

Perfect table manners!
Bike brigade!
Kate LOVED Elliot. He was all of the girl's baby doll.
Silly Viv and Evie, while the boys kicked balls in the distance and Kate did some construction. Putting the gate across the driveway and taking out our fence between the house and garage was such a great idea! It really opened up the yard and made playing a lot easier.
Girl fun!

Day at the track

At the end of July, Jon took Luke and Ollie to the track to watch the practice rounds for the Brickyard. The boys had such an awesome time! Here are some pics from the day.

Pitstop challenge.
In  front of the pagoda!
Playing racetrack later in the driveway. They are kissing the yard of bricks!

Elliot month 6

Where did the last half year go?? Our sweet boy is 6 months old! He is starting to get around. He rolls and scoots. In these pics, he kept creeping over to the side of the blanket and grabbing the grass!! We are working on solids still. He is getting cereal and has been through some of the fruits and veggies. He still is nursing like a champ! We are also working on sitting. At his 6 month appointment, he was 28 inches long and weighed 16 pounds and 15 ounces. Big boy! He has hit all of his milestones, and looks great!

I love to eat my toes!
Not thrilled with the bouncy seat... We have gotten rid of all of the swings because he is done holding still! This is my only chance for a shower though...
Brother love!
Our super happy, very chill, adorable boy!

Where's Waldo?

After our fun weekend in Chicago, it was back home for some neighborhood fun! There is a strip of shops a few blocks from us at 56th and Illinois that include an independent kid's bookstore, a butcher shop, a Starbucks, the Flying Cupcake, and a few restaurants and boutiques. For the last two summers, the Kids Ink Bookstore has sponsored a 'Where's Waldo' search. Eight of the stores hide 6 inch Waldo figures in their stores, and the kids go find them, then get a paper to enter into a drawing to win prizes. The kids love it, and the shops usually get business from the moms. This year we went with the Injays, and the Werners who were in our playgroup when the boys were little. We had a great morning looking for Waldo, and then had lunch at the Food Emporium.

Ollie and Evie with the giant Lego princess outside of Kids Ink.
Luke giving Ollie a boost to see the cookies at the Food Emporium.
I think Kate is dreaming of cookies too!
Trying to decide which one looks the yummiest!

Shedd with the cousins/Chicago Day 2

On Saturday, the Hamm and Rans families met us at Shedd Aquarium. The cousins had such a fun day running around together and checking out all of the aquatic life!

The five middle cousins:Ella, Ollie, Evie, Reggie and Ryder
We got to touch Stingrays. It is a special exhibit outdoors where they have cownose rays in an 18,000 gallon tank. Everyone got to touch a ray!

At the Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs4D movie. We saw it the last time we were at Shedd, but this time didn't go so well... At the end of the movie, it was just me, Elliot, Ben and Reggie. All of the other kids were traumatized by the 3D Dinosaurs. Evie won't watch any movies that have anything to do with dinosaurs at this point. Poor baby!
They all looked cute in their 3D glasses though!
Even sleeping beauty!
Waiting for the Aquatic show. We got special seats! What a great view.
Sister pic! We only had a few kids hanging off of us...
Haugs in the city! We had such gorgeous weather. It managed to rain at night, and was sunny and pretty during the day.
After we were done at Shedd, the kids really wanted to take a water taxi, so Gramma Rie and I took them on a ride to Navy Pier and Daddy drove over in the car to pick us up.
After our water taxi, we headed to American Girl where we acquired Will and Vivian, Ollie and Evie's Bitty Twins. And it starts... They love their babies! We then grabbed a late lunch at the burger joint at the hotel.
