Gymnastics

7 months after starting gymnastics, these two are showing a lot of improvement! Sadly, Oliver has decided that he doesn't want to do gymnastics anymore, so he is sitting out the next session. Miss Hope, his teacher, was so very sad. Ollie is her favorite!! Maybe he will come back later. Here are some pictures of his last class!! Evie is now doing gymnastics on Fridays while he is in school.

Going backwards on the balance beam!
Skin the cat! She has gotten really good at this! This little girl is just like Gumby. She can fold herself in half, and almost has a split!
Big balance beam!
We have a flyer! So awesome.
Not to be outdone by her brother...

Happy birthday, baby!

Well, I can't believe it! Our sweet, sweet baby is one! He had a great birthday, starting out with Daddy's famous blueberry pancakes. He wasn't too sure about the candle...
He was much, much happier after eating! Blueberry pancakes are one of his favs.
For dinner, we ordered pizza and got some cupcakes from the Flying Cupcake. This is what we did for the other two on their first birthday, so it has kind of become tradition!
Still not sure about the candle thing...
Or the cupcake...
Maybe I'll just stare at it, and poke it a few times.
Yay, at least I'm having a good time!
So big!
And I LOVE my sippy cup!
O and E enjoying their cupcakes.
This is so funny!
Point and nod, his favorite way of communicating! Happy birthday, buddy! We love you so much!

Random January Pictures

So what happens when it is the second snowiest January on record, and wind chills of -40 for most of the month? We all became shut-ins! The horrible weather combined with all 5 of us getting sick on a rotating basis made for a long month with not a lot of action or pictures being taken. So here are our randoms for January!!

Ice on the inside of our double paned windows. So cold!
Our front window was even worse! You couldn't even see outside. Of course Ollie and Evie were happy to peel the ice off. And eat it...
Jon worked from home several times between the weather and helping me out when I was stuck in bed. I have not been that sick in a long time. I even skipped the Colts playoff game that we had tickets to. It might have killed me! Lilly shut down for a day too..
When you get stuck at home, you start doing crazy things. Like making robot dresses out of foil.
Viv was over hanging out, and the three of them painted many beautiful pictures. The tarp helped the floor, and I only had a few colorful cabinets.
Painting snow! We mixed up some water and food coloring, and they had a blast!
My sweet January baby wasn't so sure about the white stuff...
Ollie was sick this time. He even told Eva to stay away from him so she wouldn't get sick. We made a giant ocean picture. They had me draw a whale, dolphins, seals, an octopus, crabs, and a lot of fish, and then they colored it.

Hi, my name is Elsa.

And here it is, the movie that started it all... At the beginning of December, our realtor hosted a client appreciation event that involved renting out a movie theater and holding a private screening of Frozen. Elliot was sick, so Jon, Ollie and Evie went. That day changed our lives. Evie became completely obsessed. We started listening to Frozen music all day, every day. She and Vivian started acting out the movie every chance they got. Evie started wearing her hair like Elsa's every single day. For 6 weeks. A cape became a permanent accessory. So did a crown. She got two Elsa dresses for Christmas, and wears them every day. She has also started telling people her name is Elsa. "Hi, my name is Evie, but my real name is Elsa." She will even put her hands out and freeze you with her ice power. Don't try to do it back though, only she is the real Elsa, and only she has ice power. It is so funny, and so cute! For our little girl who has a tendency to be a bit of a tomboy, I am secretly thrilled that she is so into a princess. I preordered the movie, and it arrives in mid-March. I can tell you what we will be doing every day after that!!!

 At the theater with Olaf.
Elsa braid! If you look back through our December pictures, her hair is like this in almost every single shot. Notice the cape around her neck too.
Elsa dress! It also came with an Elsa doll. No joke, when she opened this present, she hugged the box. The crumple at her feet would be the Anna dress. She opened that present and said "I don't like this one!!"
The Elsa twins. Viv, Evie and Ollie know every single word to every single song at this point!

Even when we play in the snow, it has to do with Frozen! Here is our Olaf in the backyard.

Snow fort!

After the snow was done falling, we decided to head outside to play! Kari, Greg and Viv came over, and we built a massive snow fort. It was all fun and games until Evie threw up in the fort. Oops... Sickie #3!

Look how deep it is!
My feet are buried!
Starting to shovel.
Pile it higher!!
Kari, Viv, Evie and I built our very own Olaf.
How many people does it take to build a snowfort?
Entrance #1
So much fun!
Riding the walls like a horse.
We built a snow slide on one of the sides.
Snow much fun!
The finished masterpiece.

Snowmageddon!

A few days after New Year's, we had one of the biggest snowstorm that Indianapolis has ever seen! Literally, the city shut down. We were expecting an inch of snow every hour, so Jon and the kids made a measuring stick so they could go out and see how much snow we were getting.

Daddy explaining how to measure the snow.
Checking out the numbers on the measuring stick.
Woohoo, here goes!
Snowing steadily...
First measure!
Elliot couldn't go out, but kept himself occupied. He loves trying to dig in the china cabinet. There are so many nice glass things in there to play with!
One of his other favorite past times these days is emptying out the Tupperware cabinet.
Evie is always happy to help him. I keep trying to tell her that she is old enough to know not to throw Tupperware everywhere, but they both think that it is a great game!
A few hours into the storm. Ollie looks superimposed onto this picture!! We did end up getting around 12 inches. They got to 5 on their hourly chart before the snow got too heavy and started packing down on itself.
The view down Capitol Avenue. Jon ended up staying home from work for a few days, and school got cancelled for over a week. The kids and I ended up staying in the house for almost 2 weeks straight. Between school being cancelled, gymnastics shutting down, level red (emergency only) travel advisories, and I caught the plague that Jon had over Christmas, we were just fine being home bound.
