Beach Day #1!

After saying good-bye to Matt and Jenny who had to head back to Atlanta, we drove back to Tybee to hit the beach. The weather was really gorgeous all week. We really lucked out, because Hurricane Isaac was headed towards Florida, but it ended up hitting the gulf. We only had one day of rain, and then it stuck to the evenings. Here are some pics from our first afternoon at the beach!

Here is our little beach baby. Oliver absolutely loved the ocean and the waves. It was so much fun to watch him splashing around!

This one surprised us, because she did not so much love the beach. She was all smiles on day one, but proceeded to cry each day when we got to the beach, and would make us carry her across the sand. Jon and I were both shocked as the sandbox is her favorite thing in the world! Midweek she started with a cough and small fever, so I think maybe she just wasn't feeling great...

First Tybee dinner at Gerald's Pig & Shrimp. It is only open on the weekends, and has a variety of BBQ and Southern style seafood (Po'boys, Southern Boil, etc.). The food was fantastic, and Gerald himself was there cooking. He came out to talk to us, and was such a nice guy.
