It's so hard to believe that our big boy is now 4! He had a really great birthday that lasted for about a week. He loved every second of it! Here are some pics from his big day.
We started the morning with some cinnamon rolls. I felt kind of bad when I brought it to him and he said "um, Mom, you forgot the candle". How dare I! So his first candle of the day was in his cupcake.
This is a picture of the treats that he took in to his class. I was a little sad that he had to go to school on his birthday, but I guess it's something that he's always going to have to do! He probably had a better time there than at home anyways; they make a huge deal out of birthdays! Since we were going with the soccer theme for his party this year, I made chocolate covered Oreos with candy soccer balls on the front. Apparently they were a huge hit!
Another thing that they can do in Preschool is donate a book to their classroom. Oliver chose Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons. Here he is with his birthday book and an Oreo pop!
After school, we played on the playground for awhile since it was so gorgeous out! O fell asleep on the way home, which hardly ever happens. He has pretty much given up naps over all these days. So he must have had a really fun day!
When he finally woke up from his nap, we went to Three Wisemen, his favorite place, for birthday dinner. It just so happens to be a brewery and pizza place, but they are very kid friendly. They bring you popcorn to eat and pizza dough to play with while you are waiting for your food. What's not to love? Here he is wearing his crown from school!
Since his birthday was on a Thursday, and we were having his party on Saturday, we just had birthday ice cream on his big day instead of cake. There would be plenty of that to come!
Cheesing away with his ice cream.
And what's a birthday without a little facetime? He got birthday calls from his cousins in Wisconsin, as well as his bestie Luke from Japan!
Opening presents. We are getting into the big boy toys now!
They have a lot more little parts, and a lot more directions...
It was such a fun day. We love you so much, little man.
